We are in gorgeous Koh Samui at the moment and I have some people desperate to see some photos LOL. We also had 2 days in Koh Tao which is a big diving and snorkelling island. Here are a few fave pics:
This is outside our bungalow - right on the side of a mountain! OMG the stairs and hills to get to the beach, dinner and reception were unbelievable. The steps led down to a sunbathing area that you can see in the next pic.
It was amazing when you walked into the water from the little beach - fish everywhere:
The closest you get to seeing me in my bathers!
The outdoor shower - there was an inside one too :-)
Love all the little longboats that the locals take out to do their fishing:
We had dinner one night at a place called Whitening. Everything (including the trees LOL) are painted white! Gorgeous sunset while sitting with our feet in the sand :-0
Back to Koh Samui by ferry for 10 days. Russ took this one from our little deck while I was enjoying happy hour:
We had dinner at the restaurant/resort where Russ and I got engaged 16 years ago!
In the pool. The camera we bought Marnie for her birthday with this trip in mind has been brilliant. IO have basically ditched the SLR and we are using her camera for everything.
The bungalow directly in front of the pool is ours :-0
One of the restaurant areas has a "walking street" on Friday nights where all traffic is blocked off and all the street vendors set up. It was fantastic and so good to see local Thai people and tourists mixing together and really enjoying themselves. We are going back this Friday again. They had a little cocktail stand that were selling them for less than $2 - I thought they would be very weak but OMG, so not LOL.
The thing that Marnie wanted to do more than anything was to go on an elephant ride. We did this yesterday as we hired a car and could go and do it without having to do an organised day tour. It was great and the mahout (trainer) hopped off at one stage and asked for the camera, he would run in front of the elephant and say "1, 2, 3 cheeeee" it was a crack up.
That is about all so far, will update again in a couple of days :-)
